Driving in the van

At our friends house they have this great van.  We always seem to be there when its dark, so the boys have never played in the van before, but I thought thtat this was pretty darn sweet, Logan driving and James in the back seat!
And of course you have to watch where your going when you back up! Its funny the things kids pick up when they watch you do things.
James didn't really fit in the back seat so we had to open it up and let him hang out the back end.

Nancy update

My little sister is due the first bit of May, but at her appointment today the doctor said that she was dilated 1 centimeter and that she was 75% effaced! When she told me that I started out with the bad news that being 1 cm dilated doesn't mean anything! I was 3 cm for 2 months. But that effaced number is a sign things are moving along! The doctor told her that she should expect Easton to come in the next week! My mom says that as long as he makes his debut after the 24th or this week that would be best (State competition for Solo and Ensemble is that day and she is supposed to accompany a young lady!). When I talked to Nancy she said they were planning on the 26th! Babies don't really care what we think or want, so good luck to all! We are happy to meet you Easton whenever you come, just be healthy!

Boy Bath Time!

We do bath time twice a day at our house mostly for my sanity and not for cleanliness! The boys love the water and although bath time doesn’t usually last longer then 5-10 minutes it gives me a little time to put things together or sit down by myself.
I know you can't tell what Logan is doing in this picture, but he is gently burping this dinosaur.  He has really taken on the brother role really well and I am hoping this means good things when he becomes a big brother.  People have told me that they think it will be hard on him, since I still baby him, but I am hoping they are all wrong and he takes on the new life with ease! (Cross your fingers and pray for me!!)
Look how quick that camera is! Impressive! Now if I could only find the charger for this camera...I've seen it some where, story of my life.  Age old story of second box to the left...grr!

Deboning a Turkey, check!

I remember my mom always slaving away deboning the turkey after our holiday meals, but I have never done it myself.  I made my first Turkey on Sunday and I was so scared! It is a major component of the meal and if I mess it up, then we are having cereal for dinner! But all went well, even though I had to run warm water on the inside of the turkey! I guess you can't expect to take an almost 13 pound turkey out of the freezer on Saturday and it be completely thawed on Sunday.  I also learned that you have to check everything! I got everything out of the chest cavity, but I check the other end! Evidently they hide something there too, but no one died, so I would consider that a success!
This morning I started to debone it after boiling it on Sunday.  Of course I let it get too hot, so it was fun to work with, but I got it done.  There's a lot of yucky stuff in there! But I got 2 quart ziplocs to put into my freezer and a tupperware in my fridge to eat now! I love having this on hand.  Makes a quick meal on the fly and sometimes no matter how much planning you put into a meal, life goes for something in the opposite direction! Having kids does that to you too! I love it when I can have a few meals in the freezer that takes little time, especially when your having a baby soon.  Fill your freezer!
And here's this, since Logan's so cute! He opened and closed the microwave while I worked at the stove top! But he came a running when I told him I was done and it was time for bed!

My Glider

I've been slaving over this project for such a long time...well I have worked on it for two weeks off and on.  I must say it has been a learning process.  On my mission I helped upholster a couch, but it was more of a stapling and less of a sewing project and there are no staples on this chair.  There was no written pattern and no idea as to where to start! But I learned from my mistakes and I really like the finished project.  Now I have to start the crib bedding, which I again will not have a pattern for, but I see what needs to be done and I have something to copy.

The funny things they say...

Today as I am making my bed James is sitting on the computer chair with the hiccups when he says to me, "I have the hook-ups"! I love kids. I am so excited for Logan to start talking so we can hear what he's thinking. Everyday James says that he's teaching Logan how to talk, so soon Logan will surprise us all with his thoughts on the subject. I am reading this to James and he is laughing! So cute!

New Jammies

Yesterday I was allowed to go to the mainland alone! I had an appointment that I couldn't take boys to, so it was a great opportunity to get a few things checked off my list.  I got gas, did target, got banking done at 2 banks, picked up the last of my fabric at JoAnn's and hit the Seattle Premium Outlet Mall in Marysville for their after Easter sales.  In all my coming and goings I found the boys some summer weight jammies, although they both appear to be one size too small! But Logan is almost two and already wearing a 2t and James is almost 4 and already wearing a 5t.  I didn't think I could have missed that far.  But we will just see a little extra skin on both accounts until I can get it right!

We're going on a Egg Hunt

Last year my I found out my older sister has decided that Easter should be broken up into 2 very different days. On Saturday we do all the commercial stuff and Sunday should be reserved for the more spiritual side of the Easter holiday. I have to say I couldn't agree more. We get so caught up in filling eggs and baskets and writing cards to remember why we even celebrate this time of year. Our Savior was resurrected leaving the tomb empty and gave each of us the opportunity to return home to our Father in Heaven and live with him again. I am so grateful that we have latter day prophets and apostles to continue to guide us and strengthen us each day. I am grateful that we were able to hear from them today and to be able to learn from their counsel. I am grateful that I can be sealed to my family and be forever a family with those that I love. I am grateful for this gospel and the joy that it brings into my heart each day. I am grateful for my boys! They are so sweet. Logan has learned so much and continues to surprise me with how much he understands the world around him. He finds joy in everything around him and brings joy to all those that he comes in contact with. James has been in preschool again for a month now and comes home with something new, in a good way, everyday. He lives to learn and have fun. Like every 4 (in 24 days) year old he finds something to play with in everything he does. He can always fall back on being a tiger or a puppy and does at the strangest times- scares a lot of kids that way! Logan got so distracted after collecting just a few eggs during our families Easter Egg Hunt. He didn't want to leave the gator after he found that he could finally play on it alone while the other kids were collecting their eggs. I didn't think he would really care about his bag, but he carried it around and was reluctant to let me have it to empty his eggs for him. I was really surprised that all the kids, but my niece Kristin, emptied their bags in a circle on the floor. I thought it would be more defined what was mine and what was yours. But the kids really had a good time and if I can figure out how to download it onto my computer I even have a video of the egg hunting.

Crockpot Mexican Chicken

This was such an easy dinner and Logan loved it!

Crockpot Mexican Chicken
4-5 Chicken Breasts
1 jar Salsa
1 can Black Beans
1 can Corn, drained
8 oz. pkg. Cream Cheese
Add first four ingredients into crockpot on low for 4-6 hours. Add the cream cheese about an hour before serving. Mix well, shred up chicken and serve over rice. Next time I might cut up some fresh tomatoes and sprinkle them on top just before serving.

Private

I am contemplating going private. I am sure that no one actually reads my posts, but I just have been thinking about how much of my kids life I talk about and maybe that would be best! So if you want to keep following me, let me know and I will add you to the list! Thanks!

PS I wont go private until the middle of April so you have time!
